Solartrip NFTs are minted on the Solana blockchain.
What is the Solana blockchain?
Solana is a high-performance blockchain platform designed for decentralized applications and crypto tokens. Unlike traditional blockchain platforms like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which use a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus algorithm, Solana has implemented a new architecture called Proof of History (PoH), which aims to significantly increase throughput and reduce latency in the blockchain to provide fast, secure, and scalable decentralized apps and crypto systems.
What is a "Blockchain"?
A blockchain is a digital ledger of transactions that is duplicated and distributed across a network of computer systems, usually referred to as nodes. Each block in the chain contains a number of transactions, and every time a new transaction occurs on the blockchain, a record of that transaction is added to every participant's ledger.
The decentralized nature of blockchain technology ensures that no single entity has control over the entire blockchain, and all transactions are transparent and verifiable by all users. This design makes it difficult for any single user to alter past transactions, which is why blockchains are considered secure and immutable.
